With this illustration, I chose the words “where” and “journey” to be the focus. I went with a navigational theme, depicting a map and compass to symbolize finding one’s location in unknown territory.

In Question #2, I continued the journey motif and depicted a mountain. I drew multiple flags to illustrate multiple goals and convey show users that when you accomplish one goal you move on to the next phase of your journey.

I wanted each of these illustrations to convey a sense of time passing—after all, investing is a long term process. For this, I compare “starting to invest” to “planting a seed” that will grow into something larger over the years.

For this illustration, I pulled out the word “when” and symbolized it with a clock.

At this next step, I express that investing is a learnable concept with books to symbolize knowledge and experience.

This question was the most conceptually challenging of the bunch. I brainstormed and came up with a battle map to convey “strategy” and a blueprint to convey “ideation” and “planning”. I settled on the blueprint because it represents building a custom plan for each individual user to achieve their goals. I went a step further and made it a blueprint of a rocket ship to support the ideas of travel and exploration seen in the previous illustrations.
